Many of my friends have lost their spouses in recent period. I empathized them, sent condolence message but never realised the agony and pain they were passing through before which I am experiencing myself at present.
The Kolkata visit what we had in February of this year on the occasion of Budhai's marriage was the last enjoyable trip together though she was suffering from a knee pain. In fact Snigdha was very keen to go despite her problem. We could meet lots of relatives and friends for the last time. Unfortunately Snigdha could not meet Mejda and Boudis as she fell sick.
When we came back we consulted a good knee specialist who cured her knee problem. To make her completely fit I initiated the oral treatment of her HCV problem under the advice of Dr Kanakia, the liver doctor. I still blame myself for doing so as I strongly feel the treatment caused liver cirrhosis which was the root cause of fluid accumulation between the lungs.. Whenever I am alone this is bugging me most.
Snigdha was lying in hospital ward for 40 days expecting everyday to get cured and come back home. Even she agreed for the surgery hoping that would solve her problem. I could not control my emotions when she cried to Mou wheile she was taking her to ICU. ' Why are you taking me there, take me back home ' she cried.
Sorry Snigdha, we could not give you the best treatment despite our sincere efforts. We have lots of sweet memories, but the happenings at the end will hurt me forever
